The following morning the team sets out on the one hour trip over the moraine to the Esmark glacier. Scaling the clear blue ice of the glacier requires crampons, harnesses, ice axes and ropes to negotiate the deep crevasses and snow bridges, but it's all worth it to enjoy lunch at the top with a beautiful view of the fjords and the area around the bay.
